New Haven, CT Healthcare Law Firm
There are many new factors affecting the operation and growth of medical practices: a more burdensome regulatory framework; managed care; increased complexity in billing; and changes in technology. One thing is clear—it is much harder for the sole practitioner or small group to survive. For medical professionals the status quo is clearly not sufficient. As a result, many physicians have avoided starting their own practices and have instead joined large groups or taken positions at hospitals. There still, however is need for physicians in private practice, and many physicians continue to be successful at operating their own practices. My firm represents doctors who are starting their own practices or joining practices, as well as those who want to realize economies by merging practices. In addition, I assist practices in negotiating the increasingly complex regulatory environment affecting physicians, including HIPAA, anti-kickback and anti-referral laws. |
